| PNG needs leaders like Agiru | |
|
I WOULD like to commend Governor
Agiru for his long term vision to develop the gas project in the
province. His move to negotiate with ExxonMobil demonstrates his vision for development. The governor has been critical of the Queensland pipeline project. His continuous argument resulted in the cancellation of the project, forcing the government to opt for downstream processing within the country. It was a bold step taken by the leader for the good of the people and the economy of PNG. We need such leaders with vision to make influential decisions for this young nation. Leadership and willpower is what PNG need to move forward. It is now time for our leaders to make effective decisions at the national level. Leaders must make decisions that will create a conducive environment for everyone to actively participate in the economic development of PNG. The effect of good governance must be felt by all citizens especially in the rural areas. Michael Drake Kapu Madang |
