TV’s Today host here for charity work

By DAVID KAPI
CHANNEL Nine’s Today show host Carl Stefanovic is in the country to raise funds to help improve the health of infants, mothers and nutrition.
Mr Stefanovic will host the Susu Mamas charity ball in Port Moresby tomorrow – an annual event – to raise money for the non-government organisation, which is based at the Port Moresby General Hospital.
The venue of the ball will be announced tomorrow.
Mr Stefanovic said his four-day visit on invitation of Susu Mamas, was purposely for charity work.
He paid tribute to the work organised by Susu Mamas, which had been in the country for 32 years.
He said he wanted to help reduce Papua New Guinea’s high infant mortality rate.
“Though this is my first visit here, I am excited to be in this beautiful country and probably at the right time, where there is energy in the atmosphere during this election period, and hopefully see for myself the different cultures on display.”
