Rapatona to put Cosmos to the test

By HENRY MORABANG
ITíS testing time for Cosmos when they take on in-form Rapatona in the menís premier soccer match in Port Moresby tomorrow.
Coach Joe Turia has recruited some unknown players who are capable of causing upsets against established teams.
Turia would be relying on former international Desmond Sow to dictate play in the midfield while Michael ěK-Boiî Sigamata to control the backline to stop the fast finishing Rapatona strikers.
Cosmos are renowned for playing good football but they have biggest problem that they cannot find the net.
It something coach Turia and his management will work out to see Cosmos as a winning team and not just an entertainers on the paddock.
It would be real test for Cosmos when they meet the Manusians.
Rapatona who is fast becoming a very strong and skill side knows where to attack Cosmos.
Coach Chalapan Kaluwin will need to use his strikers well such as Ravu Habuka and Kialou Pouru.
Habuka last week proved to be an handful for PRK Souths and he is likely to repeat the same against Rapatona.
In the midfield tireless skipper Russel Inai will lead his charges of Lawrence Diau and John Baulo to see their flankers such as Joshua Wesley and Andrew Maramapu jnr scoring goals.
In the backline Kolohi Kaluwin, Clinton Caleb and Adolf ěHitlerî Horris should live up to their expectation while the 17-year old Solomon Islander goalkeeper Adrian Waleili should have no problem manning the goalmouth.
The Grade 10 POM Grammar student should start for the team as number one goalkeeper as regular Tapas Posman have settled well in the sweeper position.
Rapatona should win this one but anything can happen.
In the other early games, Defence led by ageless Selan Elijah should beat Momase. Momase from Gerehu Suburb are unpredictable side and certainly will give Defence a run for their money.
University should beat B-Mobile. After 2-1 deficit against Verave, University really display what is expected from a premier club to comeback from behind to win the match 3-2.
On Sunday, Souths to beat Guria while Verave to upset PS United. PS United are coming back and will be much stronger on Sunday.
In the womenís premier soccer, the best match would be between first place Rapatona and Lamana who are running second.
This game will certainly go down to the wire as both teams have players that can do anything. Lamana coach Dickson Aopi said his girls would give their best tomorrow.
In the other matches, Guria to beat Naniu, Telikom to disconnect Markharm Yarangs, University should be PNG Gardener.
