An all shark affair looms

MOROBE Hammerheads Sharks 15s will
take on Tiger Sharks in the opening game of Momase Besta Cup rugby
union competition that will kick off at the SCRUM Oval in Lae
tomorrow.
The competition will run for four weeks and all the five teams -
Madang, Oro, Wewak and Lae - playing against each other to select
a best side to represent Lae in the Super 4s that will be held at
SCRUM in June-July.
PNGRFU vice-president Naka Songake said the other four regions
will also hold their respective competitions New Guinea Islands to
play for Bismarck Cup, Highlands PJV Cup and Southern Traders Cup
in Southern regions.
Hammerheads assistant coach Anthony Kerowa said the players have
undergone two weeks of intensive training and are ready to take on
their opponents in the opening game of Momase Best Cup.
“The players have trained hard in the past two weeks in
preparation for the big clash and are looking forward to take on
the opposition in the opening game on Saturday,” Kerowa said.
The line up is Eddie Taru (Vikings), Rodney Kavanamur, Andrew
Maips (Unitech Reds), Moses Laena (Vikings), Raymond Roberts
(Vikings), Martin Carlos (Telikom Crows), Wilfred Malo, Thomas
Linge (Greyhounds), Peter Opa (Unitech Reds), Joseph Wamapri (Unitech
Reds), Bruce Teni (Greyhounds), Sylvester Lingonia, (Greyhounds)
Robert Tavua (Vikings), Steven Mirinjembi, (Unitech Reds) and
Jason Missian (Greyhounds).
Reserves are Joshaia Nindel (Telikom Crows), Aloisus Kevin (Telikom
Crows), Lemuel Dom (Greyhounds), Jonathan Pokapia (Telikom Crows),
Wesley Yowade (Unitech Reds), Spencer Ekali (Telikom Crows) and
Wilson Kurai (Telikom Crows).
Non traveling reserves are Billy Ben (Vikings), Elias Roger (Telikom
Crows), Augustine Bagel (Greyhounds), Michael Dagamote (Telikom
Crows), Samuel Kestehen (Unitech Reds), Rawali Rawali
(Greyhounds), Isaac Lokora (Vikings) and Alfred M. (Unitech Reds).
