ONCE again we trundle towards the end of yet another month so we’ll join the lemming-like charge over the cliff top into June while carolling good wishes for a super week to all our readers.

NOW regarded by many as a superstar, the diminutive songbird and showbiz personality extraordinaire Miss Kylie Minogue begins her 40th year this morning. Happy birthday Kylie!
***
KNOWN affectionately by many in Oz as the “Singing Budgerigar,” Kylie has come a very long way indeed since the days when she wore greasy overalls and waved a determined oil can as a motor mechanic in Neighbours, her country’s best-known television soap opera.
***
REMEMBER actress Bea Arthur, who starred in The Golden Girls and played opposite Lucy Arnez in the movie musical Mame? Miss Arthur turned 85 on May 13. She’ll long be remembered for her wonderful edgy way with humorous lines, delivered in an expressive basso profundo.

***
WE believe the Madang budget has been passed – where are the road maintenance funds? Perhaps the outgoing Member for Madang Open would care to comment … or has he lost interest in such trivial matters since nominating to contest the Governor’s position?

LETTERS are still coming in seeking answers from the Government over the Moti affair. It seems this is one issue that just won’t fade away. A few straightforward words from our leaders would help voters determine the parties to support in the coming elections.

WITH so many intelligent and beautiful young women in PNG we’re expecting many more entries in this year’s Miss PNG Red Cross Charity Quest. The money raised is the major source of funding for the Red Cross. And while the contest is a lot of hard work, it’s also a heck of a lot of fun. Talk to your boss and try for sponsorship today … who knows, the Miss PNG title might be yours this year.
