Bamin decries corruption in judiciary

By HARLYNE JOKU
INDEPENDENT candidate for North Waghi Open electorate Albert Bamin says the main reason for breakdown in law and order is a weak and corrupt judiciary.
Mr Bamin said there had been reports of allegations of corruption in the judiciary and action must be taken against this.
“If the allegations are true, then a full investigation must be carried out immediately and corrective measures taken.
“We, as a nation, cannot afford to be complacent about such important issues,” he said.
Mr Bamin added that he would promote peace as a Member of Parliament.
“We need to settle disputes instead of picking up axes, bows and arrows, and firearms.
“We need justice and protection when the people are abused by the rich and the powerful.
“We need to protect our properties and ourselves and our loved ones from murder and rape,” he added.
Mr Bamin said that the incoming Government must have the courage to address these issues head-on.
