Unbeaten Moresby on the hunt
Round five of the AFL Port Moresby
competition will see undefeated competition leaders Moresby take
on KDC Dockers at 1pm at the Colts ground on Saturday.
Moresby have continued their good form from last year which saw
them make it to the grand only to lose to University Bulldogs.
The team comprising youngsters who have surprised everyone with
their undefeated start will be led by Stan Isu and Stan Gelu in
the centre and forward line and Manu leading from the backline.
The team is on a high after accounting for Bulldogs last weekend
but will face the acid test as the Dockers are on a mission to
make up for lost ground.
The Dockers have their big guns firing with Desmond Kaumu,
Francis Navus, David Gavara and Richard Aupae on board.
Youngsters Anaga Isaac, Simon Kanasa and Thomas Dau have blended
well into the team which should see them end the winning run for
Moresby this weekend.
The main game will see two experienced teams West and University
Bulldogs battling at 3pm.
On form, Bulldogs should account for the Kombes, who have not
been consistent so far as the team is rebuilding after laying
off in 2006.
The point’s ladder after fourth round sees Moresby with 16,
Bulldogs 12, KDC Dockers and West both on eight points while
Gordon’s Kokofas have yet to register a point.
