Tarangau leads LFA comp
HUON CHEMICAL Tarangau lead the men's
premier (1) division competition in Lae Football Association
with (13) points.
After five games, Tarangau is followed by YMCA Tribes and Lae
Biscuit Poro are both tied on 12 a piece, Zilu Scientific West
is third with nine points, Boroko Motors Cosmos eight, Blue
Kumuls seven, City United four, Marie three, TISC three,
Buresong one, Puma SVS 0, Lae Builders Esso 0, Barbarian 0 and
Bugandi 0.
Lae Builders Esso, Barbarians and Bugandi have been promoted up
to the men's premier (1) division following their outstanding
performance in the first division last year.
Blue Kumuls are leading the senior women's division on 12 points
followed by Puma SVS 11, Bara 10, Mopi 10, SM Pride 10,
Barbarian eight, Huon Chemical Tarangau five, Bugandi four, Lae
Biscuit Poro four, Abbatoir Central four, Peninsula three, AD-CO
one, and PS Pondo 0.
Panamex are leading the senior men's first division on 15 points
followed by Nabusip Kusip on 13, Mala Sentas 11, SM Pride 11,
Maltech eight, Lae Tech seven, Cape Nelson seven, Pascol six,
Bek Rot United four, We-Ku four, Eight-Mile Pukpuk four,
Billiong four, Central Abbatoir three, PS Pondo one, and Dawaks
0.
LFA general secretary Alex Tokey said they have played five
games in round one of the season proper competition.
"We have played five games and will be playing our six games in
round one this weekend," Tokey said.
In the Under 20 men division Zilu Scientific West beat Huon
Chemical Tarangau 1-0, Lae Biscuit Poro held Nabusip Kusip to
1-all draw, Blue Kumuls shocked Lae Builders Esso 2-0, Maltech
beat Abbatoir Central 2-0 and Bugandi versus City United score
was not available. Barbarians beat Cape Nelson 1-0 and Bek Rot
United lost to B/M Cosmos 1-0.
Puma SVS beat H/C Tarangau on forfeit 2-0 in the Under 20 women
division.
