‘All laws followed’
PNG Bodybuilding Federation has
clarified that all athletes selected have met the requirements
set by the PNG Sports Federation.
PNGBF president Timai Tally was commenting on recent media
statement made by former Mr PNG on the selection of
bodybuilding.
“As president of the PNG Bodybuilding Federation, I wish to
clear the air over confusing press statements that appeared in
the media on Wednesday,” Tally said.
He said he would like to inform all concerned that there are
various criteria, conditions and restrictions which are set by
the PNG Sports Federation and also the hosting nation (Samoa)
which must be adhered to.
Tally said such conditions do not make it possible for PNGBF to
send everyone and as such some athletes may be unfortunate to
miss out.
He stressed that the selected athletes and official have all
complied with the approved requirements so far thus receiving
the approval of the Justification Committee of the PNG Sports
Federation.
