Yama begins Highlands campaign for his men

By ZACHERY PER
PETER Yama, leader of the People’s Labour Party (PLP), has started his Highlands regional tour to campaign for his candidates in the region.
Mr Yama began with a long drive from Madang yesterday morning to catch up with his Daulo open seat candidate NK Kondo Patrick.
Mr Yama was welcomed into Daulo district by traditionally-attired dancers and a huge crowd that pledged to cast their votes to Mr Patrick who would subsequently make the number to make Mr Yama the next prime minister.
Mr Patrick thanked PLP for endorsing him as its official candidate, admitting that he was campaigning strongly to win the Daulo seat currently held by United Party’s Ben Kiage.
Mr Yama reiterated his plan to create a separate ministry for religion should his party muster the numbers to form the next Government.
He urged all the Christians to cast votes for his candidates so they could have their own ministry to address their grievances and concerns.
Mr Yama and his delegation proceeded to Kundiawa Simbu province where he was expected to stage a rally in Kundiawa today and campaign for his candidates contesting the Simbu seats before he proceed to Western Highlands province.
