Minape ready to give

THE franchise owner of Minape Morobe Kundus in the National Soccer League Mathew Minape is expected to meet the team management and players next week.
Minape said yesterday that the Kundus will go into serious training once he hands over the training kits and equipment to the officials and players.
He said he would meet up with president of Lahi Soccer Association John Ronnie, the coach Richard Nagai and members of the train-on squad. It was during this first training camp meet, Minape will donate K5,000 worth of sporting goods to the franchise soccer team.
Lahi will supply bulk of the players which including the cream of PNG national squad led by skipper Richard Daniel and the company.
Minape is no stranger to sports having being a rugby league player himself before he switched to soccer.
He said he was supporting soccer because of the huge potential for our players to go overseas and play. He believes that PNG players are marketable product in Asian market which have already attracted players from the Solomon Islands, Fiji and Vanuatu.
It is unfortunate that PNG has yet to market its players to Asian market after Australia and New Zealand offered little assistances in offering contracts to players.
Minape said he wants to see soccer grow in the country, especially in Morobe province.
