Beware top degree holders

THERE have been a lot of criteria which people should look for before casting their votes.
Most people have said that a university degree or a masters is a must for a candidate to be eligible to stand for elections.
From my perspective, we do not necessarily need degree or masters holders to qualify.
All we need now is a simple, humble, God-fearing man who hates corruption, beer and pokies.
In my electorate, we have a masters degree holder in political science who promised to build a small America.
He told us that being an ambassador for more than two decades, he had made a lot of friends among donor agencies and would use his contacts to develop the electorate.
We waited for five years in vain while he disappeared in Port Moresby’s beer and pokies house.
Most candidates will make empty promises. They will say they have been in this position and that position in Waigaini.
But the truth is these people are corrupted.
Many of our development programmes like the National Sustainable Development Strategy are gathering dust somewhere in the big offices in Waigani.
We must elect a person who is not a womaniser, has no record of corruption, does not drink beer, and does not play pokies.
