Bougainville police in LPV campaign

THE Bougainville police have joined hands with civil societies in the autonomous region to create awareness on the new limited preferential voting (LPV) system among voters in the remote areas.
The awareness drive was being funded by AusAID through the Electoral Support Programme (ESP).
Buka police station senior officer Joyce Tseraha said the LPV awareness team covered all areas in the northern region and central region but had yet to cover some parts in southern region.
She said they were yet to visit Kongara 1 and 2, and in Buin, Siwai and Nagovis districts.
Ms Tseraha they helped to paint a clear picture of how people should vote.
She said their main aim was to ensure that the people fully understood the voting system to avoid many nullified votes during polling.
