All eyes on Ballymore trip

THE Airlines PNG U16 rugby union team bound for Queensland, Australia, will get to play at Ballymore, home of Queensland Rugby Union if they make the finals of the Queensland Junior Rugby Union State Championships.
The championships are in the age group of Under 13s to Under 18s.
The juniors will play a total four preliminary matches starting Wednesday leading up to the finals on Sunday.
The preliminary matches will be played at Nudgee College while the finals will be played at Ballymore in Brisbane.
Playing at Ballymore will be an achievement in itself for the youngsters according to coach Robin Tarere.
The youngsters will play their first match against Townsville on Wednesday morning and in the afternoon will take on Darling Downs.
On Thursday, they play Rockhampton in the morning and South Central Coast in the afternoon.
Tarere was also mindful of the fact that the boys will be going to an environment very different to Lae and Port Moresby, and during the camp acquired the services sports specialists Janet Gimots and Geoffery Gideon from the National Sports Institute to talk to the boys.
