Don’t be blinded by poll promises

I REFER to the OC’s concern over K90 million released to sitting MPs (The National, June 6).
We are in the midst of campaigning and none of the sitting MPs is sitting in his office planning for development.
There are many MPs who have neglected many rural areas in good times and our people have suffered.
This money should have been called campaign grants instead of development grants as the sitting MPs are using this money to hire choppers to get into the rural areas, which they have neglected to build roads.
I would like to tell the people of our great country not be blinded by the election promises.
Choose the leader that your heart inspires you, not the one you think is good.
Those who empty their pockets with cash now will fill it again when they get elected and we will continue to suffer from non-delivery of basic services.
Choose a servant to serve you, not to neglect you for self-centred interests.
