Harlequins in form and in second

HARLEQUINS returned to form after a turbulent past few weeks with a resounding 19-0 victory over Brothers on Sunday enabling them to regain second spot in the Port Moresby rugby union competition.
Previously second placed Defence were beaten 3-13 by Wanderers, allowing Harlequins to leapfrog them (on percentage) and the Trukai Kone Sharks (bye).
This was only the Harlies second win in seven matches.
Harlequins were too strong around the park, in the scrums and general forward and backline plays while Brothers had their opportunities but failed to take the right options when they made breaks.
Brothers players Douglas Guise and Asi Vele Tola tried valiantly but walked away empty handed.
“The win was certainly a good morale booster for the team’s recent indifferent form”, said Harlequins head coach Billy Rapilla yesterday.
“We still require a lot more work to be done but it has elevated us back to second place and that is a good base to work off at this point of the season”.
Competition leaders University remain undefeated after overcoming last placed Southern Chiefs 15-10 on Saturday.
The Chiefs put up a very good fight putting University under a lot of pressure but the premiers hung on with Lawrence Posu and George Oki in outstanding form.
After week 14 University (44), Harlequins, Defence (31), Kone (30), Wanderers (21), Brothers (16) and Chiefs (9).
