Poro takes over the lead in LFA

LAE BISCUIT PORO took over as Lae Football Association competition leaders after white-washing Puma SVS 9-2 in a one-sided affair in the men’s premier (1) division competition at LFA Park on Sunday.
The Papuan Compound boys proved to be a contender when they took control midway through the opening half and never looked back. They kept the lid tight, denying SVS PUMA scoring opportunities.
The two goals by SVS Puma, more or less consolations, were scored in the dying minutes of play in the final half.
LFA general secretary Alex Tokey said he was impressed with Poro’s performance, adding that they have taken over as the new competition leaders at senior men’s point ladder with 24 points after 10 games in round one of the competition at the weekend.

“The Under 20 men’s and men’s premier 2 division will play their competition during the school holidays from July 4 as wash out games. I urged all of them to check on the draws. We should resume our season proper competition on July 7-8,” he added.
