Suspect conman charged

A 31-year-old man from Wabag in Enga was charged in a Waigani District Court yesterday with allegedly using Chief secretary Isaac Lupari’s name to solicit money from a department head in Port Moresby.
David Yakali was ordered to appear before the same court on July 12, giving time for the various parties to complete and submit the relevant files.
He was allowed bail of K200.
Another suspect was released due to lack of evidence.
Police told The National that Yakali was tracked down and detained last week with the aid of mobile phones.
They believe that Yakali had been using the same ploy to deceive others for some time.
