University too good for Chiefs

PACE setters and
defending champions University brushed aside a strong challenge
from Southern Chiefs with a narrow 15-10 victory last Saturday
to continue their top placing in the competition in the Port
Moresby rugby union's premier division.
In the other matches Harlequins nailed Brothers 19-10 while
Wanderers caused an upset over Defence with a 13-3 beating.
Despite the boys in green's loss succumbed to second place with
Harlequin edging the soldiers on percentage.
The narrow win by the competition leaders still sees them
clearly maintaining the top spot on 44 points followed by
Harlequins 31, Defence 31, Kone 30, Wanderers 21, Brothers 16
and Southern Chiefs 9.
Elsewhere, the A grade results saw Kone nailed Wanderers 33-0,
Defence beat University 27-24, Harlequins drew with Brothers
10-10 and Lasallians defeated Taurama Diggers 10-3.
In the A grade competition ladder sees University again leading
on 41 points just a mere point from Defence on 40, Kone 37,
Brothers 34, Harlequins 32, Medics 30, Lasallians 30, Taurama
Diggers 18, Southern Chiefs 17, Wanderers 6, Crusaders 5.
In the B grade Defence lead on 47 followed by Kone 42, Brothers
33, Harlequins 31, Taurama Diggers 29, Lasallians 28, Wanderers
24, Southern Chiefs 19, Medics 13, University 8, and Crusaders
6.
In the Under 19, University is on top with 36 points followed by
Defence 36, Harlequins 34, Kone 31, Taurama Diggers 31, POMIS
29, Lasallians 26, Medics 19, Southern Chiefs 14, Crusaders 10,
Wanderers 9.
