Alotau candidate drops case

AN intending candidate for the Alotau open seat in Milne Bay province has decided to stop pursuing his case before the National Court in Waigani.
Simi Mailau, in an election petition made last week, had earlier taken the Electoral Commission to court for rejecting his late nomination and was seeking court orders to overturn the poll body’s move.
His case had been set for directions today but was recalled on Tuesday for further directions before Justice Mark Sevua.
