West Papua cries out for a fair deal

AS a West Papuan, I am frustrated with the current government of president Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono.
There is no infrastructure development in West Papua, while Java gets to enjoy the bulk of development.
Yet, West Papua generates almost half of Indonesia’s revenue.
Is this fair?
An example of injustice to the people of West Papua in basic services is the Kosi Bunggus tribe along the Dinguel River.
They still lead a primitive lifestyle, building houses in the trees like monkeys and wear leaves.
This is the 21st century for crying out loud!
But the Indonesian government has no conscience for these people, who are still living in the Stone Age.
The Indonesian government treats us like animals while exploiting our natural resources.
Our rights are suppressed. Our people are tortured physically and mentally.
We need a referendum to empower the people of West Papua and to make our own decisions.
We want to use our God given resources ourselves before they run out.
