Unitech dump 'slack' Bismarck

UNITECH beat Bismarck 2-1 in a tightly contested affair in Lahi Soccer premier men's league at the Sir Ignatius Kilage Stadium on Sunday.
The win was described as good preparation for the Unitech as they prepare for the Momase regional club championships expected to be held in Madang during August.
Both teams started strong with Unitech seeming more composed and in control in the first few minutes.
However, that was short lived after a corner kick saw Bismarck midfielder Richard Reginald headed the first goal to put his team in front.
Unitech stepped up pace and seemed desperate to equalise before the break but were denied by Bismarck's defence.
Sensing the urgency in Unitech to account for their first round loss, Bismarck coordinated well with good drives seeing barrage of attacks in the Unitech goal mouth.
But Unitech managed to hold on till good ball-work and brilliant set-play saw them equalise just before the half-time hooter as both teams went to the break locked at one all.
The second half saw Unitech come back stronger as they stepped up pace to test their lineup for participation in the upcoming regional club championships.
Unitech scored again from a corner kick as the Bismarck defence mistakenly allowed free-roaming Unitech opponents seeing Unitech slot the winner.
With 35 minutes left on the clock, Bismarck sent in substitutes to outrun the tiring Unitech backs. Unitech replied by sending in their own substitutes as the game really heated up in the final minutes seeing some brilliant ball skills and entertaining football.
Bismarck had opportunities to equalise but prolonged ball holding saw time catch up with them for their second consecutive loss after a five-game winning streak.
