Bring peace to Nebilyer

THE Police Commissioner has seen for himself the situation in the Nebilyer area during his election trip to Mendi.
The Nebilyer area is unlike other areas situated in the jungles of Papua New Guinea as there is no road, making it difficult for the police force to carry out duties to combat petty crimes.
Nebilyer is situated along the Okuk Highway and there is no police presence in the area to stop the bloody war.
The police force have been ignorant and failed to carry out their duties in maintaining law and order in that part of the country.
It’s a tribal fight between the two warring tribes – the Ulga-Ukupukas and the Kulgas. It is not the whole Tambul-Nebilyer district in war.
So many innocent lives have been lost and millions of kina of properties destroyed at the height of the crisis due to inefficient service delivery and a leadership negligence in negotiating peace.
The Police Commissioner should now understand the notorious Nebilyer known for all kinds of petty crimes and dispatch a police contingent to be stationed there and monitor the situation to restore peace amongst the warring tribes.
It is not good for the outside world to know about our internal affairs as a reporter of an Australian news agency was in the area recently interviewing the warriors armed with high-powered rifles and taking some good shots with his video camera.
It is time we put our heads together and act to restore peace in Nebilyer.
