MADANG regional candidate Steven Andambo said he is mystified by the
Electoral Commission’s official poster listing him as a candidate for
Yumi Reform Party.
Mr Andambo said this after The National reported last Thursday about an
anomaly surrounding the picture of the Yumi Reform Party leader Michael
Eran beside his picture.
Mr Eran’s picture was identical to John Endemongo Kua, the NCD Regional
candidate for PNG Kantri Party.
Mr Andambo said he had no knowledge of the party or having any
association with it and questioned how the alleged mix-up occurred.
Mr Andambo said he was the official candidate for PNG Conservative Party
headed by Southern Highlands Governor Hami Yawari as shown on public
campaign posters and a newspaper lift-out from the party several weeks
ago.
He praised The National for highlighting the anomaly and said he would
take legal action against the Electoral Commission.
Mr Andambo also identified the Yumi Reform Party leader as Peter Kamis
and not Michael Eran as shown on the official poster.
He said Mr Eran was the bodyguard to Mr Kamis.
He further said Mr Kua was with Yumi Reform Party but had since joined
PNG Kantri Party headed by Anglimp- South Waghi MP Jamie Maxtone-Graham.
He said what appeared on the official candidate poster of the Electoral
Commission had mystified him and he was taking legal recourse against
the commission.
Mr Andambo called on Mr Yawari and party president Thomas Daki not to
believe in what appeared in the poster as it was foul play.
