Crushers lead Lae league comp

WIO KIN Kamkumung Crushers are leading the Lae rugby league competition after game four of the second round.
Lae league executive officer David Atua said yesterday that the league had progressed well into round two and all the games had been played according to schedules.
“We are looking forward to another exciting year of football in Lae,” he said.
Kamkumung Crushers are leaders on 20 points followed by Panthers (19), Pirates (18), Lae Biscuit Spiders (16), Brothers (14), Highway Inn Royals (13), Magani (12), JKT Lim Morobe Tigers (8) and Bulldogs (8).
In the B grade division, Lae Panthers share the competition lead with Kamkumung and Brothers on 16 points but are ahead on percentage followed by JKT Lim Morobe Tigers (15), Lae Biscuit Spiders (13), Pirates (13), Highway Inn Royals (12), Bulldogs (11) and Magani (8).
In the Under 19 division, Panthers surged ahead with 20 followed by Pirates on 19, Kamkumung Crushers (16), Lae Biscuit Spiders (16), Highway Inn Royals (12), Brothers (10), Magani (9) and Bulldogs (7).
Due to bad weather over the weekend all Lae League games were cancelled to allow the SP Cup game to be played. The games will be rescheduled for later dates however, the normal competition will resume this weekend.
“I urge all the clubs to check on the draws today and to turn up to play their respective games to avoid any forfeits and allow the normal competition to resume at the weekend,” Atua said.
