Government is toothless

WHERE in the civilized world would you see such an immature action by employees of the power industry?
The cutting off of power last night (July 12) and the threat to switch off the power indefinitely by the PNG Power workers should have been treated by the Government as a matter of national security.
This is not the first time that the world at large has seen the inability of the PNG Government to handle issues that are so ridiculous.
The Government is not a cooperative, it is not a club, it is not a just a group of people dedicated to protect the interests of their own wantoks.
The Government represents the interests of the whole country and the people staying there.
It must make hard decisions for the interest of the majority of the PNG people and not just for the few who demand ridiculously from time to time.
These people do tend to abuse the sanctity of the independence of the country.
Independence doesn’t mean freedom from the arms of the foreigners or influence of other governments, it is also the strength to know and uphold what is right and what is needed by the people.
When you cut off the power, it is not only the NCD that is affected, but also the whole country because investors will see the PNG Government is toothless.
The people of PNG should understand and not allow such abuse to take place.
The Government should learn how to say enough is enough.
If these kinds of people threaten the industry or any sector of the land, then the Government should take action swiftly and decisively.
Those who abuse and threaten the sanctity of peace should be arrested.
Let them learn the hard way and that there is no place in PNG for immature actions and selfish demands.
The PNG Government should learn how to grow teeth and bite if it must.
