The Port Moresby Rugby league
restarts tomorrow after suspending all its games due to polling in
the general elections.
POM Rugby League chairman Solomon Ravu said yesterday that finals
were around the corner and expects fireworks and more at Lloyd
Robson Oval as teams try to consolidate their positions.
“The elections are over now and all divisions will get back on the
paddock to secure places comes the finals in month’s time,” Ravu
said.
The big games are on draw-card as pace-setters Bishop Brothers
Hawks will have their hands full when they take on an improving
Wests, coming from two consecutive losses. Souths will battle with
new competition leaders Brothers for survival, while Royals should
account for wooden spoon favourites PNG Recycling Waliya on
Sunday.
In other matches to kick-start round 22 tomorrow, blockbusting
games are expected between second-placed Dobo Warriors and
Defence.
In the other matches Paga Panthers will play lackluster Post Puma
and Kone Tigers twill face Mabey & Johnson Butterflies who are
disappointing after a good start to the competition.
