Red Beach chase three straight win

Sports

By WENDY KATUSELE
NATIONAL club champions Dazzle Red Beach is looking for a three-in-a-row win tomorrow to continue its unbeaten run in Lae men’s basketball competition.
And no-nonsense coach Male Nalau has a line-up that should go pass strong rivals NS Busu in the main clash of the day.
Having won two of its season proper outings, Red Beach who have yet to taste a premiership title in the city’s race despite two failed attempts at the title, this time around things are looking good with the sponsorship backing of KK Kingstons through its product brand dazzle.
The boys in red will be out on the courts in new uniforms recently bought by their sponsors. The match will be treated also as a farewell for player Sandy Katusele who leaves next week for further training in Brisbane in preparations for the Samoa Pacific Games.
Katusele will be missed by the team for two months with his national athletics engagement.
Nalau will be banking on the services of his first five in guards Gaugari Abong and Joseph Geno, centre Katusele and forwards Kipu Giali and Wayne Lucas.
While little magic man Aaron Kanai, Dean Lamu, Sibona Kala, Iga Saitina and former Lae Tech player Ian Salilum will provide the necessary assistance from the bench.
“I am confident of a win especially with the new outfit we should continue our top performance,” coach Nalau said.
He is hopeful that the weather permits for a top basketball match.
