More blame put on PNGFA

PNG Football Association should accept the blame for their administrative blunder instead of passing the buck to the 22 affiliated soccer associations.
The vocal Lae Football Association president Tokey Mambare said PNGFA executive could have easily addressed an internal administrative matter with the PNG Sports Federation and its justification committee on the status of the PNG men’s soccer taking part in the Pacific Games in Apia, Samoa, next month.
Mambare said PNGFA must take full responsibility for failing to meet the PNG Sports Federation’s justification committee’s requirements.
“We hold PNGFA responsible for letting soccer in PNG down and they must give a full explanation to the 22 affiliated associations for not meeting the set criteria as laid down by PNG Sports Federation’s justifications committee to be eligible to take part in Pacific Games this year,” Mambare said.
“It is a sad day for soccer in PNG and those in executive positions must be held responsible for letting soccer down in PNG as this would be the first time in the history of PNG for soccer to be omitted from participating in the Pacific Games,” he added.
