Gurias continue winning streak

EAST New Britain franchise Agmark Gurias are on a comeback trail after burying the Wari Vele Raiders 42-20 in their SP Cup rugby league clash at Kalabond field on Sunday.
At one stage early in the second half the score was 22-20 but Gurias ran away in the dying stage to win the game.
The first four minutes of the game saw Chris Purkikil setting up a good platform for Channel Aquila to score Guriaís first try which Jessie Alunga converted for a 6-0 lead.
Eight minutes later Opisa Pomba picking up a loose ball and set up Alex Ben to score one of this two tries for the afternoon.
Then Rolly Matalau snatched the ball from the opposition to score out wide beating several lazy defenders in the processl.
Raiders registered their first points on the board when they potted a penalty kick in the 14th minutes.
But the Gurias attack kept coming, resulting in another try to veteran Bal Kamane which Keimelo converted.
With the home crowd cheering on, the Gurias never looked back setting up Matalau for his second try.
The Raiders fought back strongly before half time and after the break to bring the score to a respectable 22-20 before Gurias took off with 20 unanswered points through a penalty kick and three converted tries, courtesy of Baltasa Lome, Benson Kanini and Collin Arua and kicker Alunga.
