PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare said yesterday he would lead the National Alliance party into government as prime minister, then announce a successor within three years before he bids “farewell”....

Beyond the call of duty … A helicopter crew from the PNG Defence Force air element has gone beyond its call of duty in the national elections. Apart from transporting ballot boxes and election officials by air throughout the Highlands, the PNG Defence Force helicopter team is flying critically ill people from the remote rural areas to centres, where the sick and injured could receive urgent medical attention.
