Voters to blame for backwardness

VOTING for one’s own wantok has been a traditional practice among the people of Goilala. This meant that the Fuyhuges vote for a Fuyhuge candidate, the Tauades vote for a Tauade candidate and the same for the Guarimaipas.
I understand why we did it in the past, but we are still doing it today.
Can we abstain from this ill practice and openly vote for a quality leader with respect and fairness to lead the district forward in terms of sustainable, tangible and positive change in human and natural resources development?
Sadly, we Goilalas don’t vote for those highly educated professionals but give mandate to some sub-standard dropout or some post independence public servant, who does not do much but get lost in the modern hi-tech world of sophistication and advancement.
Mother Nature has retaken roads and airstrips built by the Catholic missions, wooden bridges crumbling, schools rundown and public servants manning the aid posts are back in Port Moresby getting paid for doing nothing.
If you were a former Goilala MP, you should be ashamed because you have done nothing to improve the electorate.
