Top PRL placings decided

By DAVID KAPI
The SP Port Moresby rugby league competition top four spots are sealed following good performances by leading teams over the weekend at Lloyd Robson Oval in Port Moresby.
Dobo Warriors, Hawks, Brothers and Magani maintained their top four positions respectively over the weekend to gain 30-plus points which will be hard for the bottom teams to catch up even if they win the last remaining games.
However, only three spaces are available and that means Tarangau, Kone Tigers, Royals, Defence and Butterflies, who are congested in the middle-half of the table, have to win two last remaining games to make the top seven positions.
Dobo Warriors defeated Wests 28-24 to maintain their lead in the competition, while Hawks scrapped past Paga Panthers 20-18 and Magani edged Butterflies 30-14 to ensure finals berth.
Meanwhile, defending champions Tarangau, who are on fifth place, are showing signs of towards finals campaign by putting together two consecutive wins by defeating seventh-placed Royals 26-2, and sixth-placed Kone Tigers went down to Defence 14-10 while Brothers buried Post Pumaís finals hopes 32-14, and Souths kept their finals hopes by nailing Waliya 36-16 to complete round 24.
The SP Port Moresby rugby league finals will be played in two weeks time..
