Bring those who flout building laws to court
AS a concerned Morobean and resident of Lae, I support the call by the Morobe provincial administrator to stick to legal building laws.
Developers must know there are physical planning laws that govern development in Lae.
The developer who disregarded the law has shown total disrespect for the physical planning committee chaired by Patilias Gamato.
I believe genuine businessmen in Morobe support the call by Mr Gamato to refer developers who break the laws to the courts

Drop Costigan, coach
AS a rugby league fan, I am unhappy that former Maroons and current Canberra Raiders’ Neville Costigan has been included in the 49-man squad by Kumul coach Adrian Lam. When Costigan was approached by PNG selectors earlier this year, he turned down the offer. Now he wants to play for the Kumuls just for the sake of playing in the 2008 World Cup. I do not believe he will have any pride wearing the red and gold jumper. Costigan considers himself as an Australian. As his current form does not warrant selection even in the initial Kangaroos squad, he wants to play for the Kumuls. Please Lam, remove Costigan from your list and add one of our many SP Cup stars. Give the jumper to those who are passionate about wearing it. Not someone who does not know PNG. – League fan, Melbourne

Plagiarism a worry
AS a lover of local music, I am disappointed with some musicians who plagiarise other singers’ tunes and lyrics. Many of our original composers are facing this problem. As such, I support Patti Pots Doi and others who are for fighting for copyright. To all our local musicians, keep up the good work. – Rocky O’oru, Port Moresby

Kudos to Dr Muke
I ADMIRE the work and effort of archaeologist Dr John Muke. Many people find archaeology and anthropology a waste of time as they are not profitable. But you thought otherwise. While this generation may not recognise your efforts, they will be treasured by the future generations. Congratulations on your efforts to get Kuk on the World Heritage list.

Sorry, not enough blankets
I WAS shocked that Air Niugini had on board a limited number of blankets during its international flights. I was on the flight from Singapore to Port Moresby on July 3. When I asked one of the crew for a blanket, I was told they had run out of blankets. I found this ridiculous. Has the PX management embarked on a new policy?

PM must step aside
I BELIEVE Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare must voluntarily step aside while he concentrates on his case regarding alleged breaches of the Leadership Code. His referral by the Ombudsman Commission is a serious allegation.
