Kokopo camp solid

MEMBERS of Parliament at the Kokopo camp gathered at the Kokopo Beach Resort to assure themselves they were intact amidst rumours of the camp cracking up.
A headcount showed they had 75 MPs on the ground yesterday morning.
Party leaders all agreed to do head counts every morning and afternoon to assure themselves of their numbers.
All coalition partners of National Alliance, including PAP, URP, United Party, Pangu, MA, Rural Development Party and People’s Party were together in solidarity to dispel rumours that cracks were starting to appear in the Kokopo camp.
The camp then moved to Warangoi Club-mill for lunch and took yesterday afternoon off for rest.
Enga Governor Peter Ipatas said yesterday the People’s Party had an understanding with the Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare.
“We will not shift camp, we will remain with the Chief,” Mr Ipatas told The National.
