Mendi police warn travellers from SHP

POLICE in Mendi have warned Southern Highlanders not to travel to Mount Hagen in the coming days due to violence along the Highlands Highway which is posing a threat to commuters.
Police used loud hailers to go around town warning people about the dangers of travelling.
Police appealed to Southern Highlanders not to take the risk and travel the road until the situation returned to normal.
In the last couple of days, the police Highway patrol unit 17 based at Kaupena near the border of the two provinces provided escorts for vehicles and the public, including those that have been stranded at both sides, to pass through Nebilyer.
