Blue Kumuls lead women in soccer comp

BLUE Kumuls are leading the LFA women’s competition table with 36 points after the end of round one of the season proper competition last weekend.
LFA general secretary Alex Tokey said the policewomen have won all of their games and firmly secured the top placing in the competition ladder after the end of round one of the competition last weekend.
Bara followed behind on (27), Mopi (26), PUMA SVS (20), Lae Biscuit Poro (20), SM Pride (19), Abbatoir (16), Huon Chemical Tarangau (12), AD-CO (12), Bugandi (8) and Peninsula (7).
AD-CO held Abbatoir Central to a 1-1 draw, Panamex beat SM Pride 2-0, Nabusip Kusip and Bek Rot United drew 0-0, and so did Cape Nelson and Maltech while Pelgens Lae Tech beat Abbatoir Central 1-0 in the women’s division.
“Round two of the season proper competition will start this weekend and I urged all the clubs to be on time to play their respective games according to the draws to avoid any forfeits,” Tokey said.
Lae Biscuit Poro maintain the top spot in the men’s premier (1) division after beating Buresong 3-0 in the completion of round one of the competition last Saturday.
Boroko Motors Cosmos beat Bugandi 2-1, City United held TISC to a 1-1 draw, Blue Kumuls held PUMA SVS to a scoreless draw, and YMCA Tribes beat Barbarian 1-0.
YMCA Tribes continue it winning run by defeating Blue Kumuls 1-0, Lae Biscuit Poro held Boroko Motors Cosmos to 1-all draw, Zilu Scientific West edged Lae Builders Esso 2-1 and Marie caned Bugandi 3-0 on Sunday.
Mala Auto Parts Sentas beat Maltech 2-0 in the men’s first division, SM Pride lost to Panamex 2-0, Bek Rot United held Nabusip Kusip to nil-all draw, Cape Nelson draw nil-all with Maltech and Pelgen’s Lae Tech beat Abbatoir Central 1-0.
