SP Cup comp gears up for finals round

THE 2007 SP Cup rugby
league competition ends its normal rounds of games this weekend as
two franchises Wari Vele Raiders and LBC Bombers fight to get into
the semi finals.
It will be another double header this weekend in Lae as well as in
Port Moresby in the round 17, which the last normal games of the
season where Bombers play Muruks and Agmark Gurias clash with
Pagani Warriors in Lae while city franchise Brian Bell Bulldogs
host Kunjin Eagles as sister team Raiders meet Toyota Mioks in
Port Moresby’s Lloyd Robson Oval this Sunday.
Minor premiers Gurias, Muruks, Bulldogs and Lahanis have secured
their spots for the semi finals, but the pressure is on for
Bombers and the Raiders as all their season now depends this one
80 minutes of football match that will determine their finals
campaign for season 2007, while Eagles, Mioks and Warriors have no
chances but to looks forward and planning and preparation for
season 2008.
Bombers and Raiders must win are not easy as they will face the
two tough teams in the competition in defending champion Muruks
and the latter up against an unpredictable Mioks, who are
dangerous when in full flight.
The Bombers need to keep their wining ways to seal their semi
final berth in Lae in up against an inform Southern Highlanders
and the Raiders will have to replicate their last week’s effort
against sister city franchise Brian Bell Bulldogs to beat a
rejuvenated Mioks team to make the semi final play offs.
Bombers coach Boga Tau has named an unchanged side that defeated
Eagles 26-4 last weekend to play this week with only one change in
Anton Ken makes space for the return of forward Dusty Mockly who
will be used from the bench.
