Swans fly-over at Jackson’s
Airport
Port Moresby Road Runners tackled
Radar Hill at Seven-Mile the main event on Saturday - 7km run.
Swans Pinampio had no time to admire the view over Jackson’s
Airport as he charged down the steep descent to record yet another
victory in a time of 27 minutes 45 seconds.
Not far behind was the evergreen veteran Roger Hollis followed by
James Gurumi who overshot an early turn-off and had to make up
ground.
In the 2km dash, Joe Kaikai who put his more fancied rivals to the
knife in scoring a narrow victory by seven seconds over David
Rueben and Akis Ivia, a further eight seconds in arrears. The
organisers welcomed many first time runners who participated over
the two courses.
This coming Saturday POMRR heads out to the Mobil Service Station,
Gerehu, for the 1.8km, 4.3km and 8.6km events. A large crowd of
spectators is guaranteed at this busy location.
