Wari Vele Raiders manager fined for misconduct

SP Cup franchise Wari Vele Raiders team manager has been fined by Papua New Guinea Rugby Football League judiciary for infringement and banned for four matches in any involvement with the team.
PNGRFL in a statement said that exercising its constitutional right under Section 19(1), have forwarded three match reports of the match played on Sunday last week between Wari Vele Raiders and sister team Brian Bell Bulldogs and have directed its disciplinary arm the National Judiciary Committee to deal with and adjudicate on the misconduct by Wari Vele team manager Pouna Vagi.
The statement said that Vagi’s behaviour in threatening touch judge Stanley Lesson was appalling and detrimental to the Rugby League Code and any such behavior will not be tolerated.
PNGRFL judiciary committee, after reviewing three independent reports conclusively that Vagi have breached the PNGRFL constitution for misconduct contrary to section 19(4) and suspended him for four matches and from coming to 10 metres of PNGRFL-sanctioned games for the remaining SP Cup matches in 2007, otherwise two competition points for Wari Vele Raiders will be forfeited for very appearance.
The raiders team was also fined K1,000 to be paid in full to PNGRFL account before the next match.
