ANZ’s K8million telling system upgrade

ANZ Bank has embarked on a K8 million-investment to improve its telling system.
Garry R Tunstall, ANZ (PNG) managing director, yesterday announced to its clients in Papua New Guinea a new telling machine known as the BEAM Net that puts the country among the first 12 in the Pacific to acquire this telling technology.
The new BEAM Net system was said to be simpler and more convenient for customer usage.
“We are replacing our telling system with a new improved system that uses web-based technology.”
Key transactions such as opening an account, making a deposit or a withdrawal will be easier and more efficient,” Mr Tunstall said.
The system is fitted with an addition security feature that is able to have customer photos taken and linked to the account along with signature and provides a second means of identification.
He added that bank was excited about the state-of-the-art telling system through the use of innovative technology.
Complimented with photo identification, this system will make ANZ banking experience easier, more secure and more efficient.
The installation of this new system will also reduce the amount of paper work.
The ANZ bank will be injecting K30 million for new technology across the Pacific with K8 million going to PNG upgrade.
