PM, Sir J exchange praises

PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare yesterday promised the Opposition that there will be no vindictiveness or hatred against them for not electing him.
“I can assure the house that the Prime Minister is for PNG.
“I will take care of both sides. We will be fair in delivery of service to our people, because the Government is for all people,” Sir Michael said.
He also welcomed back Sir Julius Chan to politics after 10 years of absence.
He said Sir Julius and he had been around longer than most of the MPs.
In return, Sir Julius hailed Sir Michael’s victory as a “personal triumph”, and a recognition of the kind of person he was.
He said “we in the minority” would work with him, so long as it was for good governance.
He urged Sir Michael and his team to observe the democratic principle that “Government is for the people, of the people and by the people”.
