Ports, BBK in volleyball finals

PNG Ports men and Aranamo BBK women booked the first seats in the NCD Volleyball Association premier division grand finals on Saturday at TLC volleyball courts. In division one, Ela Motors secured both the men and women’s first grand final spots also during the weekend.
PNG Ports beat Aranamo BBK in straight sets in the men’s premier qualifying final while Aranamo BBK became victorious 3-1 over MJ UMiYet in the women’s premier division.
Ela Motors edged out Melonah Scorpions 3-1 in the men’s division one while Ela Motors escaped with a 3-2 victory over U-MiYet in the women’s division one.
In the other semi final results earlier; PM Grass Hoppers eliminated Viriolo 3-1 in the men’s premier minor semis but could not go past Melonah Scorpions when they were sent home 3-1 in the eliminations final. On the women’s court, PM Grass Hopers sent home PNG Ports 3-1 in the women’s premier minor semi, then went on to eliminate Magpies in straight sets. Earlier, BBK hammered Magpies 3-1 in the major semi 3-1 to advance to face U-MiYet in the qualifying semi final.
Melonah Scorpions will face Aranamo BBK in the men’s premier preliminary final this weekend while U-MiYet clash with rival PM Grass Hoppers in the women’s preliminary final which will also be the replay of the past four seasons’ grand finals for the last seats in the big one.
Melonah Scorpions will battle it out with Aranamo BBK in the men’s division one preliminary final while U-MiYet challenge PomTech in the women’s division one also for the remaining grand final spot this weekend.
