Former soldier aids Defence

KAWASO Limited Defence Club started too late to win matches to qualify for the 2007 Port Moresby Rugby League premiership race.
The sponsorship-starved Murray Barracks-based team was without sponsor after Hasting Deering pulled the plug on them several years ago.
Kawaso Limited, a landowner company from Southern Highlands province, came to their rescue which boosted their performance winning the remaining games but was too late to make the finals.
Kawaso Limited chairman Kossy Sosoro was the happy man with the teamís performance.
He admitted that his assistance came little late but vowed that he would back the green and gold next year for their campaign.
Sosoro not only supported Defence club in Port Moresby, but also extend his financial backing to Hawks club in Mendi Rugby Football League competition.
He said Kawaso Limited is operating in Southern Highlands, and it was proper, he support a local rugby league club.
Sosoro is no stranger in Murray Barracks as he was once a member of the PNG Defence Force.
He said he wants to urge the Mendi Hawks Rugby League players that he would fly their jersey before their finals and hopefully it will inspire them to finish in the top bracket to qualify for finals.
