THE Electoral Commission has been ordered to produce a list of serial numbers of all the Western Highlands Regional seat papers issued during the National Elections this year in the province.
This was the new order granted by Justice Mark Sevua last Friday in the matter involving former WHP governor Paias Wingti against provincial returning officer Kala Rawali, provincial police commander Winnie Henao as the second defendant and the Electoral Commissioner Andrew Trawen.
The order also requires the Electoral Commission to ensure that Mr Rawali and the respective returning officers in charge of the seven electorate in Western Highlands to produce these serial numbers as of yesterday.
The electorate and their respective returning officers are as follows:
*Tambul Nebilyer Open – Nickson Kupaz;
*Mt Hagen Open – Pau Goimba;
*Mul/Baiyer, Lumusa Open – Max Tiri;
*Dei Open – Steven Korowa;
*North Waghi Open – Joe Siwi;
*Anglimp South Waghi Open – Kimi Gokume; and
*Jimi Open – Lawrence Italy.
Earlier orders issued on Aug 17 for the Electoral Commission to preserve these ballots for the Regional seat in the province have been complied with and are now locked up in a container that is welded.
The matter next returns to court this Friday at the National Court in Waigani.
