Part of the crowd that took part in the
procession starting from the Five Mile oval and proceeded to the Reverend Sione Kami Memorial Church at Gordon yesterday afternoon to mark the opening of the All-Pacific prayer assembly. The crowd was composed of representatives from Pacific Island countries like Micronesia,
Polynesia and Melanesia, who are in Port Moresby for the prayer assembly. Prime Minister Sir Michael Somare last night officially opened the event. Participants numbering close to 3,000 came from countries such as Tonga, Vanuatu, Solomon Islands, New Zealand, New Caledonia and PNG. – Nationalpic by WILLIAM WILLIANDO
