PRIME Minister Sir Michael Somare has announced the appointments of 12 parliamentary secretaries or vice-ministers.
The ruling National Alliance Party also dominated the allocation with nine vice-ministers while the remaining three are shared among its coalition partners.
The Prime Minister himself will be assisted by two parliamentary secretaries or vice-ministers. Bougainville Regional MP Fidelis Semoso will assist the Prime Minister with Bougainville Affairs.
Nipa Kutubu MP Philemon Embel, the new Minister for State assisting the Prime Minister, will also assist in constitutional offices.
A third vice-minister is yet to be appointed to assist the Prime Minister on matters relating to the Ombudsman Commission, Electoral Commission, Electoral Boundaries Commission and the Auditor-General.
Rigo MP Ano Pala would assist Deputy Prime Minister Dr Puka Temu with Lands and Physical Planning and Mining matters.
Other parliamentary secretaries are James Marabe (Works, Transport and Civil Aviation), Benjamin Poponawa (Treasury and Finance), Philip Kikala (National Planning and District Development), Anthony Nene (Public Service), Jack Cameron (Higher Education, Research, Science and Technology), David Arore (Education), Jim Simatab (Agriculture and Livestock), Roy Biyama (Environment and Conservation), Sali Subam (Foreign Affairs, Trade and Immigration) and Yama Silupa (Health and HIV/AIDS).
