ANZ launches new service
By GABRIEL FITO
THE ANZ Bank branch
in Wewak, East Sepik province, launched its new “beam net”
service last Monday.
Branch manager Harold Piniau said Wewak had now joined Madang,
Goroka, Port Moresby and Kokopo in providing the
state-of-the-art system, which will make banking easier and more
secure and efficient.
Managing director Garry Tunstall said in a statement the
replacement of the bank’s telling system with an improved system
using web-based technology was part of the bank’s effort to
improve services.
He said the new telling system will be simpler and more
convenient for customers, adding that key transactions like
opening an account, making a deposit or withdrawal would be
easier and efficient.
Mr Tunstall said as an additional security feature, customers
can now have their photos taken, thus providing a second means
of identification when their online accounts are accessed.
“We are really excited over this state-of-the-art telling system
… we are confident that by using innovative technology together
with photo identification, we will make your transactions more
secure and more efficient,” Mr Tunstall said.
The Wewak branch has urged clients to call in on the bank and
have their photos taken between now and Nov 23 to go into the
draw to win K100 every fortnight while the major prize of K1,000
will be drawn on Dec 28.
Mr Piniau said existing business or personal account holders who
wish to add their images to their online account records and new
customers who had their image taken as part of the account
opening process are eligible to enter the competition.
