Ipatas’ move hard to grasp

THE move by the People’s Party leader Peter Ipatas to join the National Alliance is hard to accept as he was highly critical of the NA during campaigning.
I wonder why he teamed up with NA. Is it because his party’s policies are similar to the policies of NA or is he just after a ministerial post after realising that his dream of becoming the next prime minister is down the drain.
This shows that he does not care about his province but is out to make a name for himself.
Why is it that all MPs always like to be in the Government’s side?
Is it about the ministerial position which gives them power and prestige?
Don’t they understand that being in the Opposition is still the same as being in the Government?
After all, they still have an influence in the running of this country. I believe this country needs a tough Opposition consisting of MPs who want to be in the Opposition, not MPs who are there because they missed out on being in the Government.
As for Ipatas, he is only power hungry.
I hope the people who voted for him and the people of Enga will see some development before the next election.
