Team Morobe still on fundraising drive

TEAM MOROBE is embarking on a second fundraising drive to raise the targetted amount of K300,000 to adequately cater for Team Morobeís participation in the third PNG Games in November.
Morobe Administration had provided K150,000 towards assisting Team Morobe in its preparations and provincial administrator Manasupe Zurenuoc will launch the fundraising drive tomorrow.
Team Morobe general manager Tokey Mambare said this week that he was confident that they would meet the target before the games start in November.
“We started our fundraising drive in Port Moresby last weekend and the turnout was not good as expected. However, we are expecting to hold a second fundraising drive in Port Moresby in October to raise the balance,” Mambare said.
“We have sent invitation letters to business houses in Lae and I appeal to them to come forward and pledge their support in cash and in kind.”
Mambare said that they were also looking for an official sponsorship of K100,000 from the private sector.
Meanwhile, another golf tournament fundraising drive will also be held on Friday, Sept 28, at the Lae Golf Club. A fee of K1,000 is levied at all the participating teams.
